Chess Pieces - Bishop

The bishop moves diagonally, below is an example of the available moves by a centralized bishop.  Please note that unlike knights bishops are limited to moving along either light or dark squares.  The rule is simple though, whatever color square the bishop starts on, it can move on.


The bishop is fast and can be lethal from long range, unlike the knight the bishop flourishes in open positions.  Below is an example of a position that would favor a bishop.  Please note white to move wins the knight!
